Here’s some inspiration for Sunday.
We’re just about one week from The Gratitude Tea 2012 and we can’t wait to show you what we have planned. Don’t forget to bring your wallets with you for some holiday shopping. Silent auction items this year are coming from The National Ballet of Canada, Hermès and The Marilyn Denis Show, which includes two tickets to a taping and a meet and great with Marilyn herself after the show!
Tickets are still on sale if you haven’t purchased them yet.
We’re thrilled to announce we will have Tanya Geisler, speaker and certified Professional Coach speaking at The Gratitude Tea. Tanya has been featured in Canadian Living and will be speaking at TEDxWomen tomorrow! We can’t wait to hear her thoughts on gratitude, joy and living the best life possible.

Only two left until The Gratitude Tea! We’re securing some amazing items for the silent auction and have a few new surprises planned this year. Tickets won’t be available at the door, so get yours today.
Beyond the obvious reasons why having a positive attitude is good for you, scientific research has found that those who adopt an “attitude for gratitude” have:
Those who have a positive outlook on life perform better than they would if they had negative thoughts. In fact your brain performs 31% better when it’s positive than it would if it was negative, neutral or stressed.
According to Shawn Achor who gave a brilliant TEXxBloomington talk on The happy secret to better work, (watch the full video below) 90% of your long-term happiness is predicted not by the external world but by the way your brain processes the world.
If you write down 3 things that you are grateful for every day you can raise your level of positivity in the present. Try it out!
Coming soon, details about the fourth annual Gratitude Tea! The tea(m) is in the midst of planning another fabulous event and to make this year extra special, we’d like to know what you want to see more of at this year’s tea. Have any suggestions? Let us know. Help us by providing some feedback in the poll.

Michele Maheux, Executive director and chief operating officer of TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) was named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women today in The Women’s Executive Network’s yearly look at the top 100 achievers in Canada’s private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Lucky for us, Michele will be joining us at this year’s Gratitude Tea. Not only will she be participating in the afternoon event but she graciously donated her time and wisdom to an auction item this year. We can now share with you that one of the items up for grabs in this year’s silent auction will be a lunch with Michele at Oliver and Bonacini’s LUMA at TIFF Bell Lightbox. With her wealth of knowledge of the film and television sectors and her nearly 30 years work experience in private and governmental organizations, this would be a great opportunity for anyone looking to gain insight into working for a cultural organization or moving up the corporate ladder.

What’s at the top of Anne’s Christmas wishlist? A nice bottle of bubbly, preferably shared with friends over great conversations.
As part of the organizing team, Anne’s quick wit makes her our go-to wordsmith and she also makes a mean garlic bread. This PR gal has her finger on the pulse when it comes to food, fun and fashion.
If she could be any flavour of tea, she would be: peppermint. Why? Because it’s just that cool.

Barefoot Bubbly Moscato Spumante from E. & J. Gallo Winery, 750mL. $13.50 from the LCBO.
